DK3 Design also places a particular emphasis on handcrafting and traditional woodworking methods. It is in this pure, almost organic vision of design and the use of natural materials, that DK3 highlights the characteristics and natural irregularities of wood in order to offer unique pieces. Each grain, veins, crack, ring of the wood tells its own story and takes on its most raw and natural habit. The studio’s favorite woods are, without a doubt: oak, walnut and elm. Building on its Scandinavian design heritage, DK3 sublimates natural wood by including alloys in more contemporary materials such as steel, brass and marble. Each piece is made in the DK3 workshop in Denmark.
