A contemporary reinterpretation of ancient heritage

Crafted from limestone quarried in southern Australia, this side table evokes the purity of ancient Greek columns and, more specifically, the elegance of Ionic capitals. Its structure rests on four sculpted columns supporting a square base.

The main surface of the tabletop is delicately crafted to suggest the movement of a draped tablecloth, creating a subtle contrast between the mineral material and the softness of the gesture. This interplay of texture and references gives the piece an architectural presence.

Like all of Holm’s creations, Ellie stands out as a side table, designed as a piece in its own right, where classic heritage meets contemporary design.

denHolm is a design studio based in Melbourne, Australia. Founder Steven John Clark is a sculptor specializing in stonework. He named his studio after his hometown of Denholm, a small village in Scotland. denHolm’s creations are original and constructed from asymmetrical shapes. denHolm produces coffee tables, console tables, dining tables, and abstract sculptures. Each piece is unique and handmade by the artist himself.
