The Ernest Desk, designed by Spanish studio Obstacles, is a versatile piece that can also serve as a headboard or a console behind a sofa. Made in Spain from FSC-certified wood, the desk is available in five finishes: Coffee, Black, Umber, Oil, and Natural. Its clean, minimal design focuses on the essentials, free of unnecessary details. Obstacles is a Spanish design studio with a clear ambition: to create a contemporary furniture collection free from excess. Each coffee table, desk, or chair is meticulously made in Spain, in traditional woodworking ateliers, following a precise and carefully controlled manufacturing process led by the Obstacles team.

Obstacles sources only the highest-grade FSC-certified European oak, selecting sections of the trunk with unique grain patterns and minimal knots. Thanks to an innovative joinery system, the use of glue is minimized, allowing the wood to naturally adapt over time without compromising its stability. The pigments and varnishes used for the finishes are all-natural, ensuring each piece is ethically produced and environmentally responsible, seamlessly combining quality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
