Enso Pendant Light / 150 by MOTARASU

The Enso pendant light, made of wood and Japanese washi paper, is a creation by designer Lars Vejen for MOTARASU.

When Japan meets Denmark

Inspired by traditional Japanese woodworking techniques, Enso embodies the subtle encounter between ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary technology. Entirely assembled by hand, this pendant lamp is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, where every detail is mastered with precision.

Its Japanese washi paper shade, both delicate and resistant, gently filters the light. The light diffuses like a light veil, enveloping the space with a soothing warmth and an intimate atmosphere.

The solid oak structure, crafted using traditional assembly techniques, is held together by discreet magnets. This ingenious system allows the pendant light to be easily opened for maintenance, while preserving the purity of its lines.

Above a dining table, kitchen island, or large meeting table, Enso asserts a presence that is both gentle and structuring, bringing balance and serenity to the space.

Founded in Copenhagen in 2019 by Mikkel Zebitz, MOTARASU was born out of a desire to bring Denmark and Japan closer together around a shared vision of design. Its name means “to change,” to change the way we inhabit space, perceive materials, and live with objects.
