Obstacles is a Spanish design studio with a clear ambition: to create a contemporary furniture collection free from excess. Clean geometry and understated simplicity define the studio’s approach, shaping a cohesive line of tables, seating, and storage pieces. At Savannah Bay Gallery, we showcase these thoughtfully designed objects, crafted for everyday living—optimized for comfort and stability in the most refined interiors. Each coffee table, desk, or chair is meticulously made in Spain, in traditional woodworking ateliers, following a precise and carefully controlled manufacturing process led by the Obstacles team.
Obstacles sources only the highest-grade FSC-certified European oak, selecting sections of the trunk with unique grain patterns and minimal knots. Thanks to an innovative joinery system, the use of glue is minimized, allowing the wood to naturally adapt over time without compromising its stability. The pigments and varnishes used for the finishes are all-natural, ensuring each piece is ethically produced and environmentally responsible, seamlessly combining quality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
