Mogwai Dining Table by Carmworks

The Mogwai dining table by CarmWorks is a remarkable piece that perfectly embodies the raw aesthetic of the artist. Designed by Camilo Andres Rodriguez Marquez, this table captures the essence of contemporary design with a touch of boldness and sophistication.

At the heart of the burnt wood Mogwai table lies a striking geometric base, composed of geometric and symmetrical shapes that are connected at the center by two diagonal blocks. This innovative structure not only provides a solid and stable support but also offers a visually intriguing aesthetic that immediately catches the eye.

CarmWorks furniture is characterized by the quality of its materials and respect for the environment.

CarmWorks, founded by Colombian artist Camilo Andres Rodriguez Marquez, is a furniture design studio specializing in the creation of unique pieces using burnt wood. Based in Bogota, Colombia, CarmWorks stands out for its artisanal approach and raw aesthetic. Primarily using oak and cedar, the studio offers a diverse range of furniture, from massive dining tables to minimalist consoles to rounded stools.

The key element of CarmWorks’ artistic approach is the use of burnt wood, a technique inspired by Japanese Yakisugi. This traditional method involves charring the wood to protect it from deterioration while imparting a unique aesthetic. Each piece is carefully treated with natural oils and a combination of lacquer and matte enamel, ensuring durable protection against the elements and allowing for outdoor use.
